Emirates manage booking
What you can change online, and when you need to call instead.
Note
Airlaza is an independent IATA and ARC accredited agency, not Emirates. Fares, fees and conditions are set by the airline and change without notice — the figures shown in your own booking are the ones that apply. Confirm at the airline's own site before you travel.
Emirates' Manage Booking tool lets you check in, choose seats, add meals, request an upgrade quote and add extras like hotels or car hire against an existing reservation. It will not touch a name spelling error, a group booking, or a ticket bought through a travel agency. For anything outside its scope, call +1-888-890-4009.

What Manage Booking actually covers
Emirates built its online booking tool around self-service tasks that do not need a human to check anything. Log in with the booking reference and last name, or a Skywards number, and the trip opens on a single screen.
From there you can select or change seats up until check-in closes, add a special meal, add extras such as excess baggage prepay, hotel stays or airport transfers, and see whether your fare qualifies for an upgrade and at what price in cash or Skywards Miles. Passengers can also add a Skywards membership number to a booking that was made without one, which matters because miles do not post retroactively once a flight has flown.
What the tool is genuinely good for is speed: seat maps update in real time, and confirmation is instant rather than queued. Where it runs into limits is anything Emirates classifies as a fare-rule decision rather than a preference — flight date changes, cancellations and refunds on many fare types route through a confirmation step that can still require a phone call to finish, especially close to departure.
---
Logging in: three ways in
| Login method | What you need | Works for |
|---|---|---|
| Booking reference | 6-character code, surname | Any ticket, agency-issued too |
| Skywards login | Membership number, password | Bookings tied to that account |
| E-ticket number | 13-digit ticket number | Reissued or split tickets |
A booking made through a travel agency, including Airlaza, still opens in Emirates' own Manage Booking using the booking reference, because Emirates — not the agency — holds the reservation record. Agencies typically handle fare-rule requests like date changes on the agent's side rather than leaving the traveller to negotiate a change fee alone.

Seat selection and meals through the tool
Seat selection is free through Manage Booking on most fares and stays open until the seat map locks at check-in. The interface shows a 3D preview of the cabin so you can compare a bulkhead row against a standard row before choosing, which matters more in Economy than in Business, where seats are close to identical within a cabin.
Special meals — religious, medical or dietary — can be added or changed through the same page, though Emirates sets a cut-off before departure for kitchen ordering, after which the request may not reach the catering system in time. Adding a meal the night before rarely works; adding it at booking or at least a few days out is the safer pattern.
| Task | Available in tool | Typical cut-off |
|---|---|---|
| Seat change | Yes | Until check-in opens |
| Special meal | Yes | Set number of hours pre-departure |
| Skywards number add | Yes | Before check-in |
| Wheelchair or medical request | Partial | Better handled by phone |

Upgrades: the one feature people search for most
Manage Booking shows an upgrade offer screen for eligible fares, quoting the cost to move up a cabin in cash, Skywards Miles, or a cash-plus-miles combination. Not every fare is offered an upgrade here — restricted fares, including Emirates' cheapest tiers in each cabin, are typically excluded from the online upgrade screen entirely and only become upgradeable, if at all, at the airport when seats remain unsold.
Where an upgrade is offered, the price shown updates as availability changes, so a quote seen in the morning is not guaranteed to hold by the evening. Emirates also runs an automatic-upgrade option in some markets, where a member sets standing miles aside and is moved up without further action if a seat opens before departure.
None of this is a substitute for checking the fare rules on the ticket first. A ticket that blocks miles upgrades outright will show no upgrade option in the tool regardless of how many miles sit in the account.
---
What Manage Booking will not do for you
Some requests need a person regardless of how the ticket was bought. Full cancellation with a refund, rather than a same-day self-service option, commonly needs confirmation through Emirates or the issuing agency. Multi-passenger group bookings, infant additions after ticketing, and corrections to a name that was misspelled at booking all sit outside what the self-service screen resolves cleanly.
Irregular operations — a schedule change Emirates has made to your flight, a missed connection, or a rebooking after disruption — are also better handled by phone than by trying to force the online tool to accept a change it was not built to process. The tool assumes a normal, unchanged itinerary; once Emirates has altered something on its side, the online options often narrow or disappear.
If your ticket was issued by a travel agency, that agency is usually the fastest route to a fare-rule change, because it already holds the fare basis and can quote the exact rebooking cost before committing you to it, rather than leaving you to interpret a fare rule alone online.
---
Adding extras: baggage, hotels and transfers
Beyond the flight itself, Manage Booking lets passengers prepay excess baggage at a lower rate than paying at the airport counter, add a hotel stay through Emirates' own stopover or holiday packages where the route supports one, and book an airport transfer in cities where Emirates offers it.
Prepaying baggage is worth doing whenever you already know you will be over the free allowance, because airport-counter rates for excess weight are consistently higher than the online prepay rate. The saving is meaningful enough that it is one of the few genuinely quantifiable benefits of using the tool rather than sorting it out at the desk.
Chauffeur-drive, where the fare qualifies, is arranged through a separate booking step rather than appearing automatically on the trip summary, and needs to be requested with enough lead time before the flight for a car to be scheduled — leaving it until the day of travel risks the request not being actioned.

When to call instead of clicking through
Call Emirates directly, or your issuing agency, when the change involves a fare rule rather than a preference: date changes, route changes, refund requests, disruption rebooking, or a request the online tool has flatly refused to process. A five-minute call at that point usually resolves what an hour of retrying a web form will not.
Airlaza issues long-haul Business, First and Premium Economy tickets by written quote and, where it issued the original ticket, will handle rebooking and fare-rule questions directly with Emirates on the traveller's behalf rather than leaving the change to a self-service screen. Reach the desk on +1-888-890-4009.

Frequently asked questions
How do I access Emirates Manage Booking?
Go to Emirates' Manage Booking page and log in with your six-character booking reference and surname, your Skywards membership number, or your 13-digit e-ticket number. Agency-issued tickets, including those booked through the agency, open the same way because Emirates holds the underlying reservation record regardless of who sold it.
Can I change my seat through Emirates Manage Booking?
Yes. Seat selection is available on most fares through Manage Booking and stays open until online check-in closes, generally 90 minutes before departure. The tool shows a 3D seat map so you can compare rows before choosing, and changes made there take effect immediately without needing to call.
Can I upgrade my Emirates flight through Manage Booking?
Sometimes. Eligible fares show an upgrade offer priced in cash, Skywards Miles, or a combination of both. Restricted or discounted fares, including the cheapest tier in most cabins, are often excluded from this screen and can only be upgraded, subject to availability, at the airport on the day of travel.
Why can't I cancel or refund my Emirates ticket online?
Full cancellations with a refund, rather than same-day self-service changes, often need confirmation through Emirates directly or through the agency that issued the ticket, because refund eligibility depends on the exact fare rule attached. Manage Booking will show the fee if one applies, but finishing the refund can require a phone call.
Can I add a special meal request through Manage Booking?
Yes, provided you are outside Emirates' kitchen-ordering cut-off before departure. Requests made close to the flight, such as the night before, may not reach catering in time. Adding the meal at the time of booking, or at least several days ahead, gives the highest chance the request is actually loaded onto the flight.
Does Manage Booking work for tickets booked through a travel agency?
Yes. Because Emirates holds the reservation regardless of where it was sold, an agency-issued ticket opens in Manage Booking using the same booking reference. For fare-rule changes like date changes or refunds, however, the issuing agency — the agency included, where it issued the ticket — is usually faster than trying to complete the change through the airline's own self-service tool alone.
Can I add my Skywards number to a booking after I've already paid?
Yes, and it is worth doing before the flight departs, since Emirates does not reliably credit miles retroactively once a flight has flown without the number attached. Add it through Manage Booking under passenger details; it takes effect for that trip's mileage accrual as long as it is added before check-in.
How do I request wheelchair assistance through Manage Booking?
Manage Booking has a limited special-assistance option, but Emirates recommends confirming wheelchair or medical requests directly with its special services team well before departure rather than relying solely on the online form, since these requests need coordination with airport ground staff that a booking screen cannot guarantee has happened.
Is seat selection free in Emirates Manage Booking?
On most fares, yes, seat selection carries no charge through the tool. Some of Emirates' cheaper, more restricted fares — the type that also blocks lounge access and Miles upgrades — may limit or charge for advance seat choice, so check the fare rules attached to your specific ticket before assuming selection is included.
What happens if Emirates changes my flight schedule — does Manage Booking update automatically?
The trip summary usually reflects a schedule change once Emirates has processed it, but the range of self-service options often narrows once a change has occurred — some rebooking paths that were available on an unchanged itinerary disappear. Calling Emirates or your issuing agency is the more reliable route once a schedule change has hit your booking.

How Airlaza quotes work
We are an independent IATA and ARC accredited agency. Every quote states the fare family, the change and cancellation terms and whether a refund is cash or voucher — in writing, before you pay. No card details are taken on this site.
